It's a very cool idea, and you've done a fairly good job with it. I'd suggest a couple improvements, though.

Placing the die exactly in the center of the picture gives it a static feeling. It looks like the die is frozen in time, instead of sinking rapidly (as your title suggests). I think the idea you're trying to convey would be better expressed if it was off center: perhaps a little to the right and below center, so it looked like it was falling through the frame. This would also solve your balance problem - right now, the picture is top-heavy, causing the eye to get lost in the details up top and not see the whole.

Also, I think the purple in the background is distracting. The piece is more powerful in monochrome - adding another color distracts from the powerful black/white contrast that adds so much power and impact to the photo.

The idea is brilliant, though. Keep it coming!
